Graduating from college had always been a dream of mine ever since my mom made it crystal clear at a young age that she gave up a lot for my siblings and me to have the chance to live out our best life.
It did not hit me that I was graduating. It did not hit me until I was right then and there in the moment. . . present. I was smiling, crying as I made my way to my seat.
Every late closing shift every early morning 8 am wake up call was proving itself worth it right at that moment.
I had struggled for one semester, in particular, having to pay tuition while working a part-time job. I had to make the hard choice of choosing to take out a loan or going to school part-time even though it would take me longer to graduate.
I wrestled with these kinds of decisions for years.
As I was walking down I felt empowered and all around emotional. It was a life spinning moment and I was trying to soak it all in.
My family was in the stands watching me walk down. My brother acting like a professional photographer trying to capture every moment.
It is the kind of moment I hope stays with me for a life time.
Here are some pictures from that magical day.
